The real 'Day 1'

Early this morning (around 10:30...) Trisha and I departed from the north Oregon coast enroute to Baja. Here she is in front of her new Focus wagon which is our trusty steed for the trip. She named it the "Silver Bullet."

This is actually our first day on the road, since we stayed nearly a week at my folks' place. It was kind of hard to leave, since Trisha will be gone for an undetermined period of time. By the end of the day we find ourselves holed up in a Super 8 in Red Bluff, CA which is dog-friendly. Nothing like Taco Bell for dinner (jeez, you gotta be kidding - it was awful!) and Godfather 3 on HBO. Naturally, Craig had to check in via cell, and give us some pointers on the best Denny's on I-5. Shit, I didn't even know there was a difference. What else are friends for.

Well, it's late. Time for a little Trisha attention.
