Dr. Gabriel, a veterinarian from La Paz who makes weekly visits to the refuge every Wednesday, checks out a sick puppy who has been off her food for three days. The puppy wouldn't touch anything, including hamburger, chicken, broth - you name it. All she did was drink water, which at least kept her alive. For several days we force fed her chicken broth and sugar water. Dr. Gabriel recommended changing her antibiotic, and by this morning (Friday) she was drinking milk and when offered cooked liver and rice, went crazy devouring the liver. Looks like she might just make it.
