Here is a puppy that was run over by a car two weeks ago, suffering life-threatening injuries, including a fractured femur and pelvis. Because of Mariposa's urgent care in stabilizing this pup, it was able to be transported to La Paz for two surgeries, which Mariposa paid for. Only part of the cost has been offset by donations so far, and this pup is owned by a local villager who can't afford the costs. Nonetheless, Mariposa never turns away someone or an animal in need.
