Mariposa does a final examination on a puppy she has just given a final worming dose to just before it goes home with a local Mexican family. Often, local folks who adopt puppies return to the refuge for routine treament of their pets to maintain their health, a service Mariposa offers to encourage people to keep their dogs vaccinated and wormed. Just call it the humanitarian mission of the refuge.
