Maybe I'll be back home soon, with some pups...
Thought I would post some good news. My good buddy in Vancouver, Craig Boughton, has fronted me some funds which should allow me to transport at least 4 pups back to Portland. The tough part is deciding which four, although a couple are cinches for the trip. This leaves the matter of getting the required documentation for US customs and Alaska Air, as well as locating a fairly empty flight I can make with my 'stand-by' status. Stay tuned.
Thanks Craig.
One of my projects is to somehow separate the El Refugio part of this blog from the dart blog, which is what this started out to be. Funny how being away from the darts for a couple of months has done to my subject matter, but in hindsight, I should have really started a new blog for this trip, but during the early days of this Mexican journey, the original blog seemed like a fair place to update what was going on, considering I still have darts back home on my mind. As things stand now, I'm going to continue updating this blog with current content, whatever that may be at the moment, and it will definately get back to the Portland steel-tip scene when I make it back there. Hopefully, the stuff posted here has been interesting enough to keep some of you hanging in there.
Also, for those who would like to donate to the refuge, you can do it through paypal at todossantosrefugio@yahoo.com. Just designate the money to be used for El Refugio in support of the sanctuary in Pescadero. The money will definately be directed to the right place, and go to good use - food, medicine, blankets...and whatever else Mariposa needs to run the place. Any amount will be appreciated. A tax deductible receipt for donation to a US non-profit can be provided, if desired.
'bout it for today. I've got to pick up laundry, and do some shopping for Trisha, who has been a bit under the weather here the last 4 days.
Thanks Craig.
