For everyone just a bit weary of the Natalie Holloway story being sensationalized on Fox and other cable news stations, I offer an updated picture of Gladys Knight, who has nearly doubled in weight to 20 lbs since arriving in Oregon May 22. Of the two original Pips who came home with me from El Refugio, Gladys Knight (April pic) and Elizabeth "Isabel" de la Noche (of the night), Gladys is the most enigmatic. She often shows signs of dominance with her sister, yet is not as sure of herself around new things, such as tractor-mowers, vacuum cleaners, etc. She'll often be the first one to make herself scarce when confronted with strange sights or sounds, yet throws herself into all forms of roughhouse play with an entertaining sense of wild abandon. She isn't as affectionate as Liz'beth, yet....probably because she is always making herself a target to be picked on by Tequila and Minnie, which keeps her defenses up a bit. Alone, she's beginning to leap into my lap and nuzzle my cheek, which I have no problem encouraging...
