Soledad, a female lab-mix. This photo was taken on April 12, 2005. Soledad had obviously suffered emotional trauma before arriving at El Refugio, which made her very fearful of being handled by humans. She was well on her way to overcoming this, and learning trust. She died of distemper over this last weekend (first weekend in June, 2005.)
