digging into the photo archives...

I'm thinking it's time to pull some photos out of the dusty archives for posting. This is just about my past work in photojournalism as well as personal stuff. Not quite sure where the blog is heading from here on out, but I'll randomly keep things going, and maybe it will find some focus as things unfold. This picture was taken in 1998 on the Willamette River in Portland, OR. during a story covering a fund-raising event for salmon recovery. The event was called "Hawgs 'n Dawgs," an out-of-season, one-day salmon fishing contest. I spotted this scene as I was on the river taking photos of the fishing action. It seemed to sum up the whole day, and ran as the lead picture in my newspaper under the heading, "Hawgs 'n Dogs." I've always had a thing for our four-legged friends, as you might expect...
