On second thought...

I'm going to pull a Roger Clemens here, and change my mind about retiring the blog, just yet. There is still a continuing story here, so I think there may still be some life in this yet... I do have some inner conflict about what to include and what to exclude in the continuing story, particularly as it deals with El Refugio and all things baja...I should just say that I'm struggling with some of the changes that have gone on down there from my perspective, and really don't have a regular feed of information at the moment.

Trisha, my best friend in the world, no longer lives at the sanctuary, which had it's rough elements for her while I was down there in the spring. Before I left, we had been looking into several other options for her as she sought some peace and quiet so she could continue on her writing, which is the real reason she went down there in the first place. After a month or so, a local Todos Santos resident offered her a guesthouse to stay in for free, and she has been busy living a new life in Todos Santos with Nandi. She did call me and say the situation is much more comfortable for her now, and she's really beginning to enjoy being down there in the sun. Nice for her, tough on me. I sure miss her smiling face in my life these days.

One nice thing, I was able to get her facial wash and shampoo (very special stuff..)as well as a couple of custom CDs hand-carried down there to her by our friend, Carrie Gieselman from Camas Wa, who flew down last Thursday. Carrie said she'd let me know some news when she gets back on Tuesday, so in the meantime - you girls have a great time. Just think of me up here missing the magical southern baja sunsets... Say 'hi' to Brad at Santanas.

Trisha is still fostering the pup, Gandi, (Elizabeth and Gladys Knight's sibling) and has expressed her desire to somehow bring Conejo, an adult male dog at the sanctuary, back up to the States when she returns. Other than that, not much else to say about what is going on there since I left in late May. I'll fill in with some pictures as I have been doing - some older baja shots and some newer or offbeat/off subject stuff for something to chew on..
