This part of the beach runs along the entrance to Siletz Bay, with the Salishan spit on the other side. The water rushes out of the narrow entrance as the bay drains at low tide, so it is like standing beside a rushing river. When it changes directions , it can get spectacular. On the spit side you might be able to notice a group of harbor seals, full-time residents of the area.
