One cold, damp night we took the occasion to make a nice, hot fire down by Erickson Creek, and Trisha burned a lot of her old papers, mostly from college - in a cleansing ritual of sorts. A way of shedding old skin of the past, and lightening the load as we move on into the new days and years ahead.

Hi Siri,

I just took a look at the picture again after reading your comment... and it's almost eirie. Thanks for pointing this out. Trisha and I once had a very sentient being canine companion named Prudence (a.k.a. Rudy) who meant the world to us. She was one of those dogs who almost scare you with their awareness, and deep, uncanny connection to your consciousness. She died December 12, 2000 at almost 16 years old, yet it seemed far too short a life. Trisha and I have felt her presence in some way since then, and she has become our 'Gemini Guardian,' because of a particular arrangement of stars in the winter sky which suggest her face. This 'image' includes Orion and Gemini within its confines, thus our 'Gemini Guardian.'

Thanks for your supportive comments. I'm struggling a bit with keeping the blog up frequently, but there is much more to come. Knowing there are people who do keep up makes it all worth it in the end.
